Before: what this Park Hills condo looked like

Our client wanted to regain control of her entire condo and create a home that felt organized, peaceful, and functional. One of her biggest goals was being able to park her car in the garage again.

The garage had become the room everything else overflowed into. An office chair, a treadmill and an elliptical were parked where the car should have been, in front of shelving stacked with plant pots, paint and boxes, with a workbench somewhere underneath. Upstairs the bedroom had the same problem in a different form: clothes heaped on the bed, laundry baskets and bins across the carpet, the dresser top covered. The walk-in closet off it had lost its floor entirely — toiletries, boxes and baskets filled the gap between the two rails.

How to organize a whole condo, room by room

A whole-home job is the same four steps, repeated, in the right order. We start with the room that unlocks the others — here, the garage — because it is where the overflow from every other room ends up.

Pull — Room by room, everything out. In the garage that meant the driveway; in the bedroom it meant the bed and the hallway. Each room is emptied and finished before the next one starts, so there is always one calm space to retreat to.

Purge — Exercise equipment that had not been used in a year, plant pots with no plants, duplicate toiletries, clothes that no longer fit. In a condo there is no spare room to push things into, so this step is where the space comes from.

Plan — The garage was zoned for storage along the walls only — shelving left and right, nothing in the middle. The bedroom got one rule: nothing lives on the bed or the floor. The closet was split by type, with jeans hung together, jewelry on hooks at the door, and folded pieces on the shelf unit.

Place — Pots and garden supplies on the back shelving, seasonal items high. Bedding back on the bed, plants on the dresser, baskets gone. In the closet, the iron and ironing board got a permanent spot so they stopped traveling around the condo.

After: what changed in this condo

By thoughtfully sorting belongings and maximizing storage, we reclaimed the garage and gave her that space back. The end result was a beautifully organized condo, less daily stress, and the satisfaction of pulling into her garage at the end of each day instead of navigating around clutter.

The garage floor is empty from the door to the back wall, with shelving along both sides — and in the third photo the car is inside it. The bedroom has a made bed, a clear carpet and plants on the dresser under the gallery wall that was always there but could not be seen. The closet has a walkway again, jeans in a row, necklaces on hooks and folded clothes stacked on the shelf unit instead of the floor.

The same problem as the garage in a different form: the bed and the floor had become the storage.

The walk-in closet, before and after

The closet had lost its floor entirely, so getting dressed meant standing in the doorway.

Whole-home condo organization in Park Hills, KY: questions we hear

Several sessions, usually one per room, spread over a few weeks. Spacing them out matters: it gives you time to live with each finished room before the next one starts, and to see what the system needs to hold.

No. We recommend starting with the room that causes the most daily friction — here it was the garage — and stopping whenever you like. Every session leaves a finished room behind, not a half-done house.

Yes. We are based in Union and work across Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati — Park Hills, Covington, Crescent Springs, Independence, Cincinnati and more. Condos and apartments are a specialty, because there is no spare room to hide things in. Have a look at more before and after projects, or see how home organizing works.
